The CSPA-NYS Professional Development team led by Vice President Pat Duffy and Vice President-Elect Megan Wyett is in the final stages of arranging CSPA-NYS’ presence at national conventions this spring.
CSPA-NYS will once again host our annual social at ACPA. This event has been a highlight of the convention experience for New York students, professionals, and friends for many years. This year the event will be hosted on the evening of Sunday, March 6 from 8:00pm-10:00pm at a nearby location to be confirmed in the immediate future.
We are thrilled to share that for the first time CSPA-NYS will also host a social at NASPA in Indianapolis. We are looking forward to connecting with new colleagues, reconnecting with friends, and creating a new annual tradition. This event will be held at Rock Bottom Brewery on Sunday, March 13 at 8:30pm.
As is our custom, both events are open to all conference attendees – it is not required to be a CSPA-NYS member. Our hope is that the socials are spaces for colleagues to network and socialize, for employers to engage candidates, and for academic programs to connect current students, faculty and alumni. There will be light fare and access to a cash bar. Both venues are within very short walking distance from convention centers and associated hotels.
In the past, CSPA-NYS has hosted convention socials in partnership with other organizations and institutions. Partnerships are important to CSPA-NYS as they have allowed these events to continue at no cost and open to all conference attendees. Today I invite you to consider becoming a partner with CSPA-NYS for these upcoming events at the low cost of $300 for one social or $500 for both socials at ACPA and NASPA.
More information about the benefits of becoming a partner is available online via the “Options for Educational Partners 2015-2016” link. CSPA-NYS provides innovative professional development to the New York higher education community with your support. If you have questions or would like to arrange a partnership, please contact Ben Fabian, President-Elect, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
