The CSPA-NYS Journal will be published electronically twice a year in November and April. The inaugural issue will be published in April 2011. The CSPA-NYS Journal provides an exciting opportunity for scholar-practitioners to share their knowledge about best practices or research findings that are relevant to the work we do with and for our students.
The journal welcomes manuscripts that address contemporary issues relevant to the practice of student affairs professionals. All forms of scholarship recognized in the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association will be considered for publication in the journal. Submissions should follow APA format and be 3500-4000 words.
The journal is hosted by Canisius College and will be edited by Dr. Sandra Estanek. Dr. Estanek is an Associate Professor of Graduate Education and Leadership at Canisius College. Danielle LaMarre who serves as Coordinator of Undergraduate Retention at Canisius College is the managing editor. Dr. Logan Hazen, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Higher Education at the University of Rochester serves as the copy editor for the journal. The CSPA-NYS Research Grant exists to promote the development and wide distribution of scholarship that helps to improve student affairs and higher education practice, promote student success, and realize socially just communities.
