Connecting Our Community of Learners.

The College Student Personnel Association of New York State, (CSPA-NYS) is excited to invite you to be a part of one of the premiere professional development opportunities in Student Affairs, the 2008 CSPA-NYS Annual Conference at the Hyatt Hotel in Rochester, NY on October 5-7, 2008.

The conference theme this year is “Connecting Our Community of Learners.”  By participating in the conference you will have the opportunity to engage in conversations that highlight the dynamic work occurring by your colleagues around the state, and then take the lessons learned back to your campus to assist in supporting and transforming your students, cultures, and environments.

Our featured speakers John H. Schuh, PhD, Lee Burdette Williams, PhD, and Richard L. Ludwick, JD, DEd will provide us with cutting edge and insightful information about student engagement, learning communities and higher education law. The Senior Student Affairs Educators Symposium, Esther Lloyd-Jones Case Study Competition, and 4th Annual Graduate Student/New Professional Pre-Conference, will ensure that there are quality professional development opportunities for everyone who attends CSPA-NYS 2008.  We are excited to announce the addition of a one day opportunity for undergraduate students considering entering the field of higher education.

The strength of the CSPA-NYS Annual Conference is the outstanding programs that our members present. Regardless of your functional area, specialized responsibilities, or particular passion within Student Affairs, there will be helpful and informative programs for you offered by your colleagues from across the State of New York.

Add to the keynote presentations and professional workshops some incredible special events including a silent auction for a local charity, book signings by exciting authors of current student affairs literature and you will certainly agree that the 2008 CSPA-NYS Annual Conference will offer you an unparalleled professional development opportunity and the opportunity to make connections with your own community of professional colleagues.

We look forward to seeing you in Rochester! Conference registration will open August 1, 2008.
