On behalf of the 2010 College Student Personnel Association of New York State (CSPA-NYS) Conference Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to join us for the annual conference at the RIT Inn & Conference Center, October 3-5, 2010, in West Henrietta, New York.

New Decade New Direction is this year’s conference theme. Change is and has been a fact in American higher education for decades now. As we identify themes and trends in higher education, we find ourselves looking at how our daily work is and will be influenced by this change. Modeled after the ACPA competencies this year you will find that the program offering will address a vast array of topics related to your daily work.

 Joining us at the 2010 Annual Conference, as our featured speakers are Dr. Robert Nash from the University of Vermont, Nancy L. Zimpher, Chancellor, State University of New York, and Dr. Bonita Jacobs from the University of North Texas, along with special guest Dr. DeMethra L. Bradley from the University of Vermont.

The Esther Lloyd-Jones Case Study Competition, the award winning 3rd annual Next Generation-New York pre-conference for undergraduate students, a tailored pre-conference for Graduate Students and our partnership with the SUNY Council of Chief Student Affairs Officers will ensure a high quality professional development opportunity for everyone who attends the 2010 Annual Conference. New this year, a Mid-Level Manager track will be featured in the program selection.

 We challenge you to rethink what is currently happening at your institution, to imagine new futures, and to be courageous in engaging with other shareholders and stakeholders in meaningful conversation on issues in our daily practice as student affairs and higher education scholar-practitioners.
