Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the College Student Personnel Association of New York State (CSPA-NYS) Inc. it is our pleasure to invite you to our annual conference at the Radisson Hotel, October 23-25, 2011, in Corning, New York.  Strategically located and accessible via the I-86 and I-90 corridors, Corning is sure to surprise and delight you; providing just the right setting for a unique and rewarding conference experience.

Our keynote speakers for the conference are distinguished and distinctive within the field of higher education.  Join us as we welcome and engage with Dr. George Kuh, Dr. John Wesley Lowery, and Dr. Maura Cullen. Individually and collectively, their research, experiences, and participation in our conference will provide opportunities for thoughtful dialogue; transcending and informing our daily practice as student affairs and higher education scholar-practitioners.

We are pleased to announce that the CSPA-NYS tradition of dedication to the growth and development of young professionals will continue this year, featuring pre-conference workshops for undergraduate and graduate student populations.  These opportunities include the award winning 4th annual Next Generation-New York pre-conference for undergraduate students on Saturday, October 22, 2011, and a pre-conference tailored for graduate students featuring the Esther Lloyd-Jones Case Study Competition on Sunday, October 23, 2011.

Our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint have allowed us to use technology more efficiently, utilizing an online-only conference booklet, reducing the use of paper and the associated printing costs.  As a result, the cost of attendance is slightly less than in the past and we hope you will take advantage of this affordable and accessible conference opportunity at the annual conference at the Corning Radisson!

Excellent information about CSPA-NYS, including membership forms, pre-conference registration, full conference registration and more, is online and available to you now at www.cspanys.org. We look forward to welcoming you in Corning, NY this October.

Sincerely,
